Construction Administration

That’s it! Plans have been approved by the city, the GC has the building permit in-hand. We are ready to start construction... now what?

The list of contractor responsibilities is just too long to type, but basically, they are the experts who run construction. However, to ensure the success of a project and that the design intent is being met, it’s standard practice to keep your interior designer included in all coordination, and as your acting advocate. The interior designer can answer the GC’s questions, issue revisions, review shop drawings, samples, and submittals, attend construction meetings and site walks, and provide general oversight to help bring the project to a successful close.

In short, your designer stays with you through the entire project to act as your personal expert and advocate, and to make sure your design comes to life exactly as you envision it.

The CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION phase is key for an Intelligent. Inspired. Interior.
