Preliminary Pricing
Last week we discussed the kick-off phases of a project. Data gathered in these phases gave us the information needed to develop a floor plan specific to the requirements of the project.
BUT, sometimes we don’t know what these things cost…
Acorn Design Group has specific tools we’ve created to work with a general contractor (GC) in the preliminary stages of a project before any hammers start swinging.
During the PRELIMINARY PRICING PHASE, we put together specific high-level notes detailing the project parameters and work with a GC to provide a preliminary budget. The detail in these notes and floor plans give the GC the information needed to reach out to their subs for pricing of materials, installation and development of an initial project schedule.
From there, we can provide different exercises to either add to the scope or reduce the scope based on the ideal budget set by the client.
Although this phase is not crucial to the project and budgets can also be determined once the project goes out to bid with construction documents, this phase is used to provide preliminary budgets, schedules and opens the door to designing an interior that both fits the client’s needs and sets expectations early on in the project before any contracts are signed.
